When Subtle Sound Speaks WORKSHOP

Leechwald – Graz

14 March 2025 — 16:00-19:00

🌿🌳 An exploring process of sound correlation between us and nature 🎶✨

Soundscapes: We are surrounded by sounds, created by nature and mankind. We create them as we move, talk, work – but do we always hear them? Which sound did we maybe overlook because of the pace of life we often live? How do the sounds of nature change when we appear?

The workshop: 🌲 In this workshop we will give ourselves the permission to listen to ourselves, to each other and to the nature that surrounds us.

By opening up the space for exploration and playfulness 🌼 we will search for correlations of our body and nature.

The approach: 🌳 We invite you for a journey into the forest and its sounds.

What sounds can we produce by being playful?

How does hand stroking the grass sound? 🌾

The sound of a back rubbing against a tree trunk? 🌲

What you get: 🎤 We bring recorders and microphones. We will link our exploration with the radio. Recorders and microphones will help us capture our explorations. Cutting, repeating, playing forward, backwards will be part of our experimentation. And the end products could be sound collages, songs, maybe radio plays and everything that creativity without limits brings in between.

Recommendations for the outdoors: 🌦 Springtime may be still cool. Please take warm clothes with you. In case of light rain an umbrella or rain-clothes. Comfortable shoes or boots for walking in the forest will keep your feet warm and dry.

WORKSHOP IS FREE OF CHARGE. PLEASE REGISTER YOUR PARTICIPATION: movimou@gmail.com

Contact Impro Biweekly Trainings BUDAPEST

Csík Ferenc Általános Iskola és Gimnázium

22.1., 5.2, 19.2, 5.3., 19.3., 2.4., 16.4. 2025 — 18:30

“I’m spending too much time in my head”—we often say. The “From Head to Body” sessions offer an opportunity to step out of the world of thoughts and focus on our bodies, follow our feelings, and movements. No prior experience is required to join the sessions—everyone is warmly welcome who is open to self-discovery, the joy of movement, and connection!

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
Joy
Why else would we do anything? Contact improvisation is a movement practice where you can experience liberation, playfulness, and moments of wonder.

Basics of Contact Improvisation
The sessions mainly draw on the elements and exercises of contact improvisation, so you’ll have the chance to either learn or further practice them.

Diverse Themes
We explore a variety of themes, such as trust, control and letting go, connection, spontaneity, responsibility, permission, and resistance. Each session will also adapt to the needs of the group and to you, addressing what resonates with you most deeply.

Experiential Learning
There’s no right or wrong movement—only what your body communicates. We tune into our bodies and work with what we feel and perceive in the moment.

Discussion and Sharing
From time to time, we’ll try to put into words what we experience during the sessions. You’ll have the chance to share your experiences, emotions, and impressions—or simply listen to others—so that these moments can fully settle within you.

DO YOU NEED PRIOR EXPERIENCE?
No prior experience is necessary, but having some background in movement or contact improvisation is also perfectly welcome.

WHY USE A TATAMI FLOOR?
The movements of contact improvisation often revolve around staying close to the ground, connecting with it, rolling, and leaning on it. The softness and stability of a tatami mat create a safe space where you can relax and connect more deeply with your movements and your partners. The tatami’s smooth, soft surface is ideal for rolling and touch, enabling you to enjoy the practice of contact improvisation with full freedom and safety.

Join us and immerse yourself in the joy of movement!
